4 Month Checkup Update

Gracie had her 4 month checkup today! She gained a little less than two pounds in the past two months (she now weighs 12lbs 11oz). This puts her in the 30th percentile in weight. She also grew an inch in the last two months, putting her in the 10th percentile for height. Overall, she is a very healthy little girl! She cried for a whole 15 seconds after she got her shots and then took a very long nap! She also has a mild case of eczema...nothing a thick cream can't handle! I'm enjoying this parenting thing :)

Grace is talking so much these days! It is so much fun to pretend that she's telling us how her day at the babysitter's was or what happened in her dreams...I always talk back, asking her to tell me more.  Someday, I will actually understand what she's saying. But for now, I will just sit and enjoy her babbles!

4 months

Grace is four months old today! She was full of smiles and giggles when I woke her up and she talked a ton on our way to the babysitter's house!

Laughter!

Grace had a great time laughing at daddy! She had been laughing a lot more than this (I caught it just as she was getting tired), but I love hearing that noise throughout my house!

New trick :)

I haven’t witnessed it yet…but rumor has it (from a reliable source) that Grace can roll from her front to back! Grammy Kilty drove up last night to watch Grace while Seth and I went to class and as she was trying to take pictures of Grace on her belly, she just rolled right over three times! Silly girl J

 She rolled from back to front last month, so I suppose she’s on her way to being ‘mobile’! Yikes! According to babycenter.com and a few other sites I visited, the average age for this is 4-6 months, she is 3 months (2 months when she went back to front), so maybe we have an overachiever on our hands, who knows?! Every baby is different. 

She is a pro at scooting, too! It’s always so funny to me to go into her room to wake her in the morning and she’s facing the opposite side of the crib than how I had laid her the night before. I have really enjoyed the time where I could lay her down on the bed and know that she’s not going to scoot or roll off, but that time has come to an end and her new adventures are about to begin.  Her daddy is very excited that she is becoming more mobile!  

This morning when I went to get her up she was so sweet just lying there (the opposite way or course) sucking on her two middle fingers.  I always talk to her when I get her up and this morning I was telling her how silly she was to spin around and face the other way when she was supposed to be sleeping…she just smiled and laughed for me! I love these little moments.

Pure Joy

Miss Grace laughs :) She used to smile and for the longest time she looked like she wanted to make the noise, but never could. Now she laughs often! Unfortunately, she gets the hiccups every time she laughs, but that does not seem to bother her too much!
This picture was taken when her Auntie Erin, Uncle Josh and Uncle Nate came to visit last weekend. They got here on Grace's three month birthday, January 27th and left on the 29th. Here are a few of the highlights from the weekend:

• Minutes after arriving, Nate gives me a hug and tells me to make him behave because dad said he would be in trouble if he didn't behave. For the record dad, he was a good boy the whole weekend!
• Also minutes after arriving, and during the same hug, Nate says that he wish I would hurry up and get another baby in my belly. My response "Well buddy, I think we should wait until Grace is about two or three years old" then he says "yeah, or maybe four".
•  Josh, after getting spit up on, says "Wow. That's never happened before" and promptly hands Grace back to Erin.
• Erin was able to get Grace to laugh for the camera. Before this, I could not get Grace to even smile at the camera, she just stared at it!
• Nate gave Gracie tons of kisses! He loves being 'Uncle Nate'!
• Auntie Erin woke up to miss Gracie being placed on her both mornings ;)
• Millie, Yoshi and Mia had a great time playing together.
• I survived another week of my Saturday class.

The only sad part of the weekend was Sunday afternoon, when they all had to go home.
